Twirling Candles - Poem

Remember last night the house drafty and cold. You sat huddled in a coat Oh, remember last night before we were Old. Last night the candles stayed lit. Dancing twirling shadows on the wall Tickling with warmth, a deceiving glow dripping down in puddles of hot wax. Old fire burning and Gone. The house drafty and cold and I can’t help remembering last night, Before we were old. September 28 2018

Serbian Lover

Image
Yesterday someone beat and assaulted you - I listened to the radio and heard the denial of the country, suspended belief. he said to "call the police"  you did. and the police didn't come. This morning you woke and felt bugs  crawling all over, the Anxiety that can cripple, but you made these beautiful earrings; long silver crystals dangling  from each ear. I hope you get a phone soon  so you can photograph your  beautiful Serbian lover, whether of reality or imagination; He may be waiting for you now at the bus stop bench - the ever stretching bench where the world waits, fervently,  for the bus the bus that arrives too early, too late. The bench elongating always to fit you, him.    Dreams of this lonely, tragic world.
