Twirling Candles - Poem
Remember last night
the house drafty and cold.
You sat huddled in a coat
Oh, remember last night before
we were Old.
Last night the candles stayed lit.
Dancing twirling
shadows on the wall
Tickling with warmth,
a deceiving glow
dripping down in
puddles of hot wax.
Old fire burning and
Gone. The house
drafty and cold and I
can’t help remembering last
night,
Before we were old.
Before we were old.
